Lauren Shepler

Ms. Lauren Shepler is the Outreach and Communications Manager for the FIRST project. She manages the Firefighter Injury Research & Safety Trends website, social media, and press in addition to assisting with FIRST's Safety Culture and EMS Behavioral Health, Violence, & Sources of Stress projects. 

Ms. Shepler received her bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University in 2012. She continued on to earn her Master in Public Health with a focus on Environmental and Occupational Health from the Drexel University School of Public Health in 2015.

Since graduation, Ms. Shepler has had a focus on qualitative research surrounding first responders while working with multiple projects promoting safety and injury prevention research through FIRST. Most notably, she assisted with a recent FEMA grant in recruiting 132 fire departments and over 10,000 participants to take part in a study on safety culture. In addition, Ms. Shepler was part of the inaugural class of FiRE Fellows.
